The Federal Workforce Reduction Act sponsored by Rep. Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.) seeks a reduction in the federal government’s workforce through attrition, a Government Executive report said.
The attrition measure proposed by the bill means the federal government hires one employee for very two employees who enter retirement or depart from the service. The same measure requires justification by agencies on their new hires and a disclosure of all new employees by agency, the report said.
Rep. Lummis’ bill, which she introduced last year, will require the hiring freeze to remain in effect until the federal deficit is resolved. It would require the president an “extraordinary emergency” or invoke the interest of national security to be able to hire.
Rep. Lummis said her measure “aggressively halts the sprawl of government; forces agency heads to make government more efficient; and helps us get back to a people-centered, not government-centered America.”
In reaction, Colleen Kelley, head of the National National Treasury Employees Union, said the bill is “misguided” in that it forces government agencies to rely on “unaccountable and expensive contractors.” By doing so, the bill raises the possibility of poor services, questionable transactions and higher costs to the tax paying public, Kelley said.
The federal hiring freeze bill comes in the wake of President Barack Obama’s proposed budget for 2012 which proposes an increase in new hires in the federal government. The federal budget targets as many as 15,000 new civilian employees next year with most new hires going to security agencies. Currently, there are approximately 2.1 million employees in the federal government’s roster.

TOPIC: U.S.A. Federal Budget
The old adage, “behind every dark cloud is a silver lining” is coming into play in terms of dealing a much overdue blow to the thoroughly corrupt organization that calls itself “Planned Parenthood”.
The abortion mill (Planned Parenthood, Inc.) is run by people such as “Judy Tabar” and “Cecile Richards”; presidents. Exactly how many “Presidents” the organization has is a mystery to me. Employees of the organization have been documented on video tape conversing with purported sex traffickers! Of course Ms. Tabar and Cecile Richards simply try to dismiss the evidence as isolated, and claims “the employee” has been discharged. For myself, speaking as a taxpayer and Private Citizen that does not placate me in the least!
“Planned Parenthood” has a documented history of apparent fraud. That is a statement from Representative Michael Pence of the great State of Indiana.
Did you know “Planned Parenthood” is the proud recipient of your hard-earned tax dollars. Tax dollars in the approximate amount of One hundred seventeen million dollars per annum. Ouch! That hurts me financially and intellectually. It is my understanding that figure is money from Washington alone. It also receives free money from State and Local governments as well. It supposedly has a total budget of $1.1 billions, per year! That’s a lot of condoms; birth control pills and dead babies. Evidently their success rate with birth control and sexual behavior advice is not very effective!
Furthermore to add insult to injury, millions more of your hard-earned Federal tax dollars are earmarked for overlapping services; which are provided through the Medicaid Program! Let us put those dollars toward Medicare!
A tip of the Taxpayer’s hat to Representative Mike Pence who recently had the guts to say out loud, “the time has come to deny any Federal funding to Planned Parenthood.” I agree; and it should have been denied a long time ago. That is the proverbial silver lining to the current Federal budget situation. Let us put our house in order.
I rest.

Planned Parenthood is a service to women in need if they need care or condoms or advice.Planned parenthood is there to give out birth control and I support anyone who is there for a woman in need of these services. I do not condone a person that interferes with a womans decision on what she does with her body. Any organization that educates and supports women in need should be funded in case there is no other alternatives, there is someone. If a woman cannot afford such services, planned parenthood is a well known organization that can help. I do not agree nor support the previous comment. Planned Parenthood helps and supports women. A man should not have a say in a womans health or her body ! It is up to a woman to be able to get counseling and educated or have a normal check up if she cannot afford it.
