Sharron “Unemployed are Spoiled” Angle Slams Opponent Reid

At the biannual Nevada GOP convention, Republican nominee Sharron Angle made an appearance before 250 enthusiastic supporters. Angle went on the attack against the Nevada incumbent and Democratic Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid.

She called Reid a desperate man who has been too busy trying to discredit her, rather then concentrating on creating solutions for the major economic problems that plague Nevada., which according to May BLS  figures has an unemployment rate of 14%.

On the subject of the unemployment extension bill, Angle said “she would have voted against it”. Angle also laid the blame squarely at the feet of Senator Reid, saying “I hold him personally responsible for what is happening in our nation …Why would you believe anything he puts on television?…This man has been waterboarding our economy.”

Angle went on to say about Obama’s appearance the day before in Las Vegas, where he had depicted her as being more right of right then any current sitting Republican.

She said that like Reid, Obama fails to recognize Nevada’s problems and this “is not a bright new day”.  She then went on to point out that her ideas are universal and will only help the economy.

Angle has angered many unemployed Americans with her earlier stated views on unemployment and unemployment extension, saying that “You can make more money on unemployment than you can going down and getting one of those jobs that is an honest job, but it doesn’t pay as much.

And so that’s what’s happened to us is that we have put in so much entitlement into our government that we really have spoiled our citizenry and said you don’t want the jobs that are available.”

She later backtracked a little and attempted to clarify her previous statements with “I was criticized for saying that Americans won’t do certain jobs and the reason that they won’t do certain jobs is because they get more pay on unemployment than they can get to work those…those good jobs that are really out there.

What has happened is Harry Reid has just extended unemployment and when he did that he not only made it so that people are less employable, but he makes it so that they want to be dependent on the government. This entitlement pays them more than getting a real job.”

The Senate is due back on Monday, and Democrats are expected re-introduce the unemployment extension bill for Congress to pass.

If the job market keeps lowering the wages how is anybody going to afford anything? KFC had 150 people requesting an interview for one position which pays min wage. If you lost a job that paid 75,000 and you recieve an unemployment check of 300.00, how in the world can one say “those good jobs”. How is 300.00 of unemployment going to pay college tuition for your kids or even help pay a 1500.00 mortgage? These people have painted a picture that the unemployed are a bunch of scum who dont want to work. 307,006,550 “legal” people in the U.S. and only 535 people in congress. Who should really be worried?

    Harry Reid Has Victims says:

Senator Harry Reid has victims he used his power against. Harry and Rory Reid profit through sex crimes and child abuse through their law firm who does race profiling for hate and profit. Then persecute the victim for reporting the crime to police.

How can anyone support such human rights abusers inside of The United States?

Senator Harry Reid is a real racist and dictator who needs many others to defend him and cover up his crimes against humanity.

Senator Harry Reid profits through race investigations off an elderly VET dying in a VA hospital.

Senator Harry Reid profits through invasions of US PASSPORT invasions, all Federal Invasions and private life insurance invasions.

Senator Harry Reid and son are abusive to victims of crimes who came close to death.

Senator Harry Reid and Congress Shelley Berkley violate THE FIRST ESTABLISHMENT LAWS and mix religion and taxes Americans work hard for to chosen religious Temple who were involved in sex crime protections due to race hating and out right persecution inside of The United States.

Senator Harry Reid is a revengeful greedy profiteering politician.

    God Save America-

I made 5 times on my real job what I make on unemployment. And I do not want to be dependent on government. I despise government. They lie and cheat and steal all while saying the opposite of truth and seeking to paint a dog turd yellow and tell me it is Sun Shine.

In all truth I can only hope and pray that someone in Nevada knows where this witch lives and provides her party with the opportunity to replace her and her political aspirations.

Americans are plotting your deaths in between worrying about homelessness and hunger. Remember that next time you are out in public. More and more of us see politicians as the enemy of the American Dream not the saviors.

Enough of this empty BS political posturing crap about blaming the Dems for not extending unemployment benefits. The fault for this heartless, self serving act can be attributed soley to the Republicans and their evil twins from the Tea party. No one, with even half a brain, is going to fall for all the smoke & mirrors rubbish they are trying to ram down peoples throats. They need to get it thru their thick heads that the majority of Americans are just not as stupid as they are or think we are!!!!!!

no one could ever “discredit” Ms. Angle more than she discredits herself, every time she opens her mouth.

    Patty says:

Why would anyone in Nevada, especially with a 14% unemployment rate vote for Angle. As least Reid would give you aide until the economy improves, she would leave in the desert to die of thirst.

  • 7
    rightangledown says:

Sickofstupidity is right. Sharron Angle continues to display her narrow minded, selfish, and absolutely stupid ideas every time she opens her mouth. Her views represent maybe 15% of Nevada’s voters at best. She might get another 15% of the voters who just don’t like Reid.

The Dems and Reid are not blameless either, but the represent regular Nevadans much more than the Republican obstructionists. Rep. Heller voted for the unemployment extension in the House, which speaks well for him as our closest representative in Congress. The Dems must pass the recently past House bill which extends unemployment…as a separate bill.

And Angle can waste our time mouthing off while saying absolutely nothing.

A country in chaos with the government at center stage posing with arrogance. Defiant to middle, and lower class working Americans. Voices of those who are never heard until an election. Then filled with empty promises of hope.

We have witnessed many travesties by government but this is the utmost of them all. Government hasn’t lost touch with Americans they have distanced themselves intentionally.

If we are to regain the integrity of our country we MUST strongly demand equality, and fairness to all.

Decisions of leaders are to be quick, and precise in any case involving the safety, and well being of millions of Americans. This is where our government has utterly failed us.

Not shameful as most conclude but dishonorable would be more appropriate.

Harry Reid Victim and Commonman: Really? 15 million people out of work 3 million jobs. A woman that thinks that with 150 people applying for one job that the people on unemployment want to be there. Is she insane?

These “good jobs” she has no specifics.

I’m not a fan of Harry Reid, but at least he’s trying to help his constituents while they figure out how to fix this. Sharon is blaming the victim and telling you to blame them too.

I’m afraid that this woman will get in because no viable candidate is there to run againt Reid and the uninformed will go with this woman. Who has admitted she will be toning down her rhetoric to “get voted in”.

Toning down doesn’t mean it isn’t there.

What can you say about this woman, is she for REAL? She has really let her spoiled attitude speak, and she has no defense for the disrespect she shows to people that have worked honest jobs and unfortunately lost them, she should be careful throwing the word honest around, wrong Angle.

Sharron Angle is just a dumb c*nt! HOw she ever made it this far is nothing short of amazing. So she says, “I would have voted against the unemployment extension.” Well, Sharron you dumb c*nt go and f*ck yourself. You are truly a piece of shit. Yopu think that folks are going to vote for you, you’d better think again! Any one of those potential voters could lose their job and face what we’re all facing now, no money, zero, zilch for the last 4 weeks. You are just a dumb c*nt without a brain in your head! You’d better hope that your potential “voters” are just as stupid as you are! You dumb c*unt!

Only 250 Republican supporters showed up to hear Angle continue her attacks on Senator Reid, President Obama and the millions of us who are unemployed? Her words are doing soooooooo much to lift up the spirits, motivate, and educate us unemployed. Hey, Sharron, we already know how to apply for jobs, even the lower-wage positions. Now, can you teach the employers how to give us jobless older workers a shot at ANY job? Every time I read about this lady’s speeches, I get a certain tune stuck in my head: ” … it’s (in this case, “she’s”) kind of a drag …”

    Galina says:

I totally agree with El Cid

I hope what goes around comes around will work with all those who oppose extension. I hope that they will not get re-elected, and then will become jobless. Of course I am sure they won’t have to worry about money for a while, because they are loaded. However, being a Senator – is a job that was given to them by voters – who elected them to their position to perform the job helping citizens of this country. And if the country is not running right – means they are not doing their job, and therefore should not receive their pay and benefits – but instead should be fired. Remember – FIRED, not laid off – meaning not qualified for unemployment benefits…Ha! And their pensions and retirement benefits should be taken away. Let’s see how fast they will change their song!

This is exactly what I am talking about. I’m glad she is not representing the Democrats. She is ignorant just like the rest of the republicans, and their party think they will beat the Democrats in the next election …Please give me a break. The Republicans continue to make themselves look stupid everytime they open their mouth. The unemployed are not spoiled brats, we’re hard working citizens who just want to get back to work. These kind of comments are not fair to people who have worked and paid their taxes, anyone who have losted a job and not been able to return knows exactly what I’m talking about. Best wishes for all of the unemployed who need help out there.

I’m at my wits end here. I just did my weekly filing in hopes something positive will happen this week. I don’t know how I’m going to pay my rent in a few weeks if this doesn’t go through. I have been out of work for just over 6 months and I cannot find a job to save my life, literally and figuratively. I’m a college educated hard working guy. I don’t do drugs, I apply for countless jobs every day with rejections or no response at all. I have applied for anything from fast food, landscaping, car washing, retail, manufacturing… you name it I have applied for it. I actually went to a job interview this past week and wasn’t hired due to me being “over qualified”. I was told that I would most likely get a better offer else where and they didn’t want to waste time on hiring/training me to wash cars… I went on another interview, at Kmart actually, and I wasn’t hired for similar reasons. “I am sure something your qualified for will turn up soon”… what am I supposed to do!

Pay attention people. You wanted change, and you got it with your votes for Obama. Sure hope you love that Health package you didn’t want but get to pay for. Sure hope people can afford the co-pay if required. You did read it right, none of our leaders did. As for Sharron, you do understand that she fully supports the machine that creates jobs, and is correct in not telling you that she will create the jobs. Now I have to remember that most people left their 401Ks in the stock market 3 years ago when I took mine out since I saw indications and took action. Learn to pay attention and not suffer losses and political disasters by staying informed, or play your computer games, read books, and watch sitcoms and continue with this wild ride called life. Oh, by the way, most news on TV and radio may as well be classified as “entertainment tonight” so you have some work to do to stay informed. “And Thats The Way It Is”.

    Sandy says:

Maybe there are people who abuse the unemployment system, but I have yet to meet them. Most of the people I’ve come across (myself among them) are first time beneficiaries of UEI. Good, hardworking men and women who would do anything to get a job. In my family alone, I’ve had my father, my uncle, and myself all laid off in the past year. We aren’t liars and bums. My uncle worked for a bank, my father was an aircraft mechanic, and I was a teacher. Angle says we are spoiled and won’t take menial jobs? I’ve been turned down by fast food restaurants. They won’t take me because I’m “over qualified.” The professional level jobs won’t take me because I have no experience outside my field. And the schools have their pick from a record breaking bevey of desperate applicants, with many hiring only locals or friends/relatives of locals in order to provide job security to their own. It’s sad that a politician can be so arrogant and clueless about the struggles of those she claims to represent. Shame on her and those like her who preach from their ivory towers…safe in the knowledge the there is a paycheck waiting for them each and every month.

I would like to add to my letter that I have been unemployed since February, 2009. I have worked since I was 15 yrs. old and this is a first for me to unemployed and can’t find a job. I have applied for at least 350 jobs if not more. I have $500 left to draw from unemployment. If the unemployment extension is not passed where will my 2 teenage daughters and myself go??? I am the only child so I have no siblings. I also have an ex-husband (system failed me again) that owes me $40,000 in back child support, medical and dental expenses PLEASE PASS THIS EXTENSION FOR ALL OF THE UNEMPLOYED.

I am writing to also urge you to take quick and immediate action on creating additional Tiers or adding additional benefit weeks in existing Tiers for the Emergency Unemployment Compensation program. This is essential for the the large number of long-termed unemployed who have already exhausted all available unemployment benefits and who are not qualified for any assistance from their local, county, state, and federal government programs. How are they to survive, until such a time when jobs are plentiful and they are once again able to sustain themselves and their families?
This brings me to my next point. The American government entities cannot create jobs, nor can they force an employer to hire, and I understand this. American government has created incentives for the employers to hire, as the American government has given the financial sectors stimulus funds to assist borrowers. However, the employers and the financial sectors have not been pro-active with the government’s calls to action. Simply put, they are not helping improve the current economic crisis. Today’s high percentage numbers in unemployment, foreclosures, automobile repossessions, homelessness, bankruptcy filings, overall personal debt, and so much more reflect this point to be a fact, not an opinion.
Plain and simple: Unemployment benefits are a lifeline for the unemployed. It will stimulate the economy, as the unemployed are all consumers. It will also prevent rises in the percentages of foreclosures, homelessness, bankruptcy filings, vehicle repossessions, overall personal debt and so much more. Therefore, by renewing and adding weeks to the Emergency Unemployment Compensation program, it will benefit all of America and the people within this great nation.
Re-establish our trust in the government systems and assist us in re-building our lives; re-instill our faith in the goodness of humanity, in our legislators and the overall system of government within our nation; assist us in being proud again to be Americans. Pass and/or create the bills necessary to renew federal benefit unemployment extensions and create additional benefit weeks. Our lives, the lives of our family members, and the overall economic health of America is dependent on this to survive the current economic crisis.

    Thank you,

    Steve says:

People need to remember that politicians at their heart of hearts are controlling people. These are people who with integrity or not, want power to control and manipulate others. Have any of you ever personally known a politician who has been in their position of power for awhile? Well if you do, you know they are on automatic pilot and will do and say whatever they feel will get them re-elected or hold their position. If you call our their name, their hand is out ready to shake the hand of the person who yelled out to them before they ever turn around. They don’t feel, they have lost that ability or have stuffed that natural human quality away long ago.

This woman is a sad case and is sadly spewing hate to gain power and control. She needs to be voted away from anything resembling any kind of power. Her anger comes through her words, so can you imagine another politician filled with anger and hate in congress? It would just polarize the masses even more. It’s a sad world were people believe they have to be that way to gain power. What the hell is wrong with caring for another human being? Those faces that pass you everyday and would run to your side if you called out help or assistance. Yes those people you would prefer to shit on instead.

This woman has failed as a human being.

    Frank says:

I have considered myself and have voted Republican for the last 25 years, but I no longer consider myself leaning towards any party again. I will not vote for any of the current Democrats either. The current Democratic administration is inept and totally incompetent. They are incapable of executing any plan no matter how simple. Whatever happened to excellence or at least pursuing excellence? It must not be politically correct anymore. Because in order to be excellent at anything, the people involved have to learn from their mistakes and find real solutions to problems and accept responsibility and be held accountable. Our current system of government is broken. Political agendas, lobbyists and special interests are out of control. Politics today is total rhetoric. There is no truth in any politician in Washington today. They’re a bunch of self serving greedy puppets to lobbyists and special interest groups. All of the dead weight in Washington, Republicans and Democrats need to leave in November! Legislation needs to be passed, to limit terms in the Senate and Congress to a maximum of 2 terms. Most of these people are career politicians. The majority have never had to face tough economic times in their lives. Some of them haven’t worked in the private sector for so long that they couldn’t hold a job, (especially in this economy), if they had to. There are people who are unemployed right now who are far more experienced in business, economics and national security. They are far better equipped in solving problems than all of the geniuses in Washington put together. Our nation and economy is going down in flames, while the petty, greedy and self serving politicians in Washington are lining their pockets with lobbyist money and pouring gas on the fire. We are in this mess today, because of the politicians in Washington. They created the housing bubble in the Clinton era by forcing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to relax their lending standards, so that as Bill Clinton and Barney Frank put it, “Every American should have the right to own a home.” The current administration has appointed a committee (our tax dollars are paying for this too) to study what caused the recent meltdown in our economy over the past 2 years. To find the answer to that riddle, the Senate and Congress should stand in front of a mirror the size of the Washington Monument and look at themselves. There is a wealth of talented people, who have decades of valuable business and practical problem solving skills that could fix the problems that our country now face, but in order to do that, all politics would have to be put aside. Real problem solvers and real people with real life experience need to be identified and put into office, Get rid of all of the snake oil salesman. Political rhetoric now trumps practical knowledge and logical solutions for our country. Find people who can formulate and execute a plan to put America back on top. Corporations have sold out America too. Corporations in America are following the same model as our government. I’ve seen morons continue to be employed for political reasons or for just kissing the right people’s asses. I’ve also seen more and more people who are excellent at what they do, or what they did, and are now standing in the unemployment lines.

WTH is this woman talking about here?? Harry Reid (nor any other Senator) does not decide how much a person gets paid in unemployment benefits. That amount is decided by THE INDIVIDUAL STATES.

Good grief, woman, catch a clue!

I am not the biggest fan of Harry Reid, but I hope & pray that this woman does not win. She thinks she will make the situation better?? As I said, she has no clue about what she is even talking about and will only make the situation much, much worse.

Remember in November: “The Senate rejected a measure to extend benefits, with most Republicans and one Democrat, Sen. Ben Nelson, D-Neb., opposed to the bill because it would add more than $33 billion to the nation’s $1.3 trillion deficit”

When asked about the 60 billion approved for the war less than a month ago, there was no comment. The total “addition” to the deficit is ONE PERCENT OVER TEN YEARS. Clearly the American people who qualify for UE extensions lost their job through no fault of their own, and, have paid several years of taxes that warrent a small amount to help them eat & have a roof over their head until the jobs actually come back to the United States. Companies are now having people do 3 jobs for the price of one.
Repubs have created (for their big business interests) a large job pool of talented people they can get FOR A CHEAPER PRICE. You think this is all about the deficit? Think again. Billions for the war (contractors Cheney, Halliburton) Billions for Wallstrett (remember the big bonuses & vacations they took with that money)
The stimulus money IS ALLOCATED for….just because Obama isn’t spending it all in one day, like say, GW would have done…well that doesn’t mean it’s not allocated for…for new programs, clean energy development for NEW JOBS HERE IN AMERICA. The repubs DON’T CARE. When will America wake up & see the rights special interest is the most important thing! Big business, profit, and well they think God is on their side, so of course they think they are above everyone else…VOTE THEM OUT IN NOVEMBER. Don’t chicken out!!!! Speak to people, speak your mind. Angle is a NUT.
No one WANTS to live on unemployment benefits. They are about half what you made at your previous job(s) and there is no health insurance, and every 3-4 months there is another debate like this one that YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON, whether or not they are going to force you into homelessness.

Especially if you are over 50, or god forbid, 55, no one in this market will hire you unless you were a CEO or high-up executive.

Many of our members have been out of work for 2 years and they are college-degreed, hard-working, intelligent people with good resumes and good references, but there simply are not enough jobs.

The Economic Policy Institute, who track such statistics, say that there is only ONE job for EVERY FIVE unemployed. So how are the other 4/5 of us supposed to live, without Unemployment Benefits?

Another stat: The government has never NOT given benefits to people who need them when the Unemployment rate is above 7.2%. IF the rate now was 7.2% we’d be dancing in the streets in celebration, and most of us would be able to find work!

Do not judge others if you have not walked in their shoes. This is the worst unemployment rate in the history of Unemployment Insurance. This isn’t like the last time YOU looked for a job. If you have a job, hold on to it for dear life. We hope no one has to be long-term unemployed like many of us now are.

We will make an exception for Sharron Angle: we hope she will be unemployed for a long time!
