The unemployment extension 2010 bill has been signed into law by President Barack Obama on Thursday. The bill was approved earlier in the day by Congress. These developments have paved the way for the restoration of unemployment benefits for millions of jobless Americans who had to endure up to seven weeks without the benefits because of a congressional standoff.
The common question among many jobless workers is: When are the checks coming in?
Most reports indicate that release of the checks would vary from state to state. We looked at the probable schedules for the release of the benefits per state.
Pennsylvania and New York – are expected to send out the checks next week according to America News Online.
Nevada – lump sum payments to people living in Nevada may take up to a few weeks to be released according to America News Online.
Hawaii – KITV.com reported that the first batch of checks under the unemployment extension 2010 bill will be arriving in the mail by mid-August. Hawaii expects about $140 million in federal funds under Program which is expected to benefit around 10,000 jobless workers. Officials at the Hawaii Department of Labor and Industrial Relations said there’s no need to call the office as retroactive payments will be mailed out to those who are eligible.
When will the checks be mailed?
According to Judy Conti of the National Employment Law Project (NELP), depending on each state, people could expect to see their benefits paid in two to four weeks. Some states, such as California, are known as being slow to pay extensions because they are set up for US mail use only, says Jenny Hong of Unemployed-friends.com. Other states, such as Michigan, which uses online certification and direct deposit of checks, are known to be faster, says Ms. Hong.
Arizona – According to Arizona’s Department of Economic Security, it may be a few weeks until the first lump-sum payments will go out. The Arizona Republic learned from Steve Meissner, DES spokesman, that priority will be given to residents whose benefits were suspended but who continued to file a weekly unemployment claim as state officials advised. Meissner advised jobless workers in Arizona that those who failed to keep filing for unemployment after their benefits were suspended must contact the DES to get their back payments.
Update 07/26/2010 “Arizona’s Department of Economic Security said its office will start sending out unemployment checks and making direct deposits Tuesday for people who had lost benefits.Last week, President Barack Obama signed an extension of unemployment benefits for millions of long-term unemployed people. The law restores unemployment benefits to people who have been out of work for six months or more. That ends a seven-week interruption that caused 2.5 million people to lose unemployment help, which averaged at $300 a week.According to the Arizona Department of Economic Security, the unemployment checks will be retroactive. They will start mailing checks to people who have been missing checks the longest. To be eligible for retroactive payments, people receiving unemployment benefits must have been making calls in every week to DES to confirm their unemployment status. If they have not been making weekly calls, they need to call and get re-established. They cannot do it online. Source – kpho.com”
Vermont – Tracy M. Phillips, director of the unemployment insurance and wages division at Vermont’s Labor Department told The Burlington Free press that an estimated 860 unemployed Vermonters could start receiving checks again as soon as next week.
“Vermont is poised and ready to process anything necessary to meet the federal guidelines in the bill,” she said. “I’m very optimistic we can turn around and begin payments for eligible claimants in a relatively timely manner.”
Vermont will need to sign off some technical matters before it can resume payments to claimants, Phillips said. the state will need to sign off on some technical matters before it can resume making payments to claimants. That process could begin as soon as today or as late as Saturday.
MICMN will continue to monitor the schedules of release of unemployment extension checks in other states.

Well now that we know that checks are supposed to be coming now comes the hard part WAITING :(( I called my local unemployment office just a few minutes ago and found our that everyone would receive a letter on what we needed to do next and the letters are due to be arriving in approx. 2 weeks. I was a little dumbfounded to see it was gonna take that long but like she told me “there are over 2million people gonna get these letters and that would take a little time” I along with you guys am tired of waiting and ready to FINALLY see my unemployment ck. I did also ask the lady was the retro pay coming all in 1 ck or seperate cks. but she said she honestly didn’t know. so all we have to do is wait, wait and wait and oh yeah hurry up and wait!! Hopefully it will move along quickly and we all will see a ck. coming in the mail very very soon!!!! GOD bless you all!!!
any news on ohio
I live in South Carolina…and I read a news release that all offices will be open on Saturday to help process all the claims…I use the direct deposit method so I could see my deposit as early as next week…as I have continued to file weekly as they advised me to do. This is wonderful news…my family and I are down to our last bit of groceries. So we are praying for a quick release of funds!
I am very curious about how long it will take DUA in Massachusetts to distribute their retro unemployment extention payment for this new passage?
The Department of Unemployment Assistance should be making payments starting late next week. Letters will go out to claimants. If you have been continuing to certify weekly even if your benefits exhuasted, continue to do so. If you stopping signing, call the DUA call center next week and reopen your claim. Good Luck!
I am in Illinois, when will the checks come in and why should we wait for a letter if we continued certifying?
About an hour ago I called the unemployment office and asked about when will they start sending out the retroactive payments. The guy said they will be sending them in massachusetts by the end of this week. So thats good enough for me.
I spoke to someone in the unemployment office and I was told August 9. I am told something different everytime I call. I hope your right!
What about tx? When do we get our checks? Im really close to being homeless here!
I spoke with the Texas work force today. They will start sending out checks/money to issued unemployment debit cards within the next 10 days. They are working as fast as they can with the resources they have.
Hawaii DLIR is LYING. They haven’t allowed people to continue making their weekly claim certification so they won’t be mailing out checks until they let people start claiming the lost weeks.
They are saying not to call to keep their archaic phone systems and overworked employees from being overwhelmed but it is MISINFORMATION.
They could have allowed people to continue making claims during the lapse but they didn’t (unlike may other states) so now they are faced with having to service 10,000 people all at once. Pearl Imada-Iboshi should be ASHAMED at how her department has let people down.
I live in Honolulu and have been laid off only 6 months. Never received ANY letters in the mail and went down in person the first week of June after learning that I would not receive another penny pending congress.
I was given two handwritten cards to file. After filing the 2nd card in person after waiting in the unemployment office for 2 1/2 hours with 30 people in front of me, the clerk at the counter told me she didn’t have answers for me so to keep watching the news. No letters were ever sent to me. I was also told that no more cards would be given because the office didn’t know if or when congress would pass the unemployment act.
Yesterday, July 22nd, I thought I’d jump at the chance to find out what’s the latest on the checks, so I went down in person again and waited 1 1/2 hours with 28 people in front of me. I was issued two handwritten cards to file for weeks I am eligible. My good friend who lives across the island has to file at another unemployment office and they are telling her different things. =O She doesn’t have any cards to file and they mentioned they would send her a letter.
My guess is that you should have the cards to file either in person or chances are that you may enter the info via the automated system if and when the department gets to it. That way there would be no breaks in your filings and no breaks in your upcoming checks.
It’s crazy that the State of Hawaii Dept of Labor is not better organized and prepared to help the unemployed in our state. By no faut of our own did we reach this point where we are broke and have run out of options to make ends meet. We are WAY passed that now but yet we get mistreated by those we have served. I was a government worker until I was laid off.
It appears other states are more high tech and have great websites to help their people, unlike Hawaii.
So much for paradise. No jobs, no affordable homes, no more nothing!
I I WAS LAID OFF OF MY JOB IN THE CARPENTERS UNION A YEAR AND A HALF AGO..MY UNEMPLOYMENT RAN OUT AND NOW IM BEING “CONSIDERED” FOR MINIMUM WAGE JOBS…???? WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO???????? LOSING MY HOUSE……SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE WE NEED HELP………..
I see other states getting some insight as to when unemployment checks will be issued in their state, but I do not see any information about New Jersey, which is where I am from. New Jersey’s unemployment rate is fairly high as well. Any news on this?
When will we see it in ND and how many tiers are we covered by?
Michelle-
I’m not sure how your state works, but as far as I can tell it’s classified as a “low unemployment state” under the federal program, which means that, residents of North Dakota aren’t eligible for Tier 3, Tier 4, or Extended Benefits beyond them. What you *should* be eligible for, in theory, is:
26 weeks of regular UI
20 weeks of EUC – Tier 1
13 weeks of EUC – Tier 2
Note, though, that this only applies through November 30, 2010.
I am in GA and I had been getting my unemployment
By direct deposit prior to June 2.
I hope they will release funds next week on the day I normally were getting them.
Otherwise, my car insurance expires, drivers license expires, car tags expire plus I have to pay for the room my kids and I stay in.
I just stay prayed up.
Any body have any news for Cali??? He just said look in the mail….for extension info… My claim just ran out and I need extension to supplement my new cna training they are in demand. I’m homeless since I left an abusive situation.and house hunting for me and kids need an income to get a place.. Help any news for California?????
I LIVE IN OKLAHOMA AND THE BACK MONEY WAS ON THE CARD TODAY
You really got yours on that day???
Btw, Hawaii distributes checks to elligibles who have checking accounts and the new card system only. No direct deposits into your personal accounts, so Hawaii will probably have to wait alittle longer.
“Eligibles who have checking accounts” “the card system?” What are you talking about? Hawaii doesn’t have a “card system.” They only send checks. And sending out a check shouldn’t take any longer than processing an automatic deposit. It would just add a few days for mailing. The point is that Hawaii isn’t even letting people claim for the missing weeks. Each week that goes by adds another week owed to the claimant.
Does anybody know when to expect checks in Indiana. We are on the debit card system so I hope next week sometime.
I called Indy Friday and they told me that I will be able to file a voucher Sunday morning and recieve the money monday morning after 10
Thanks for the info man, but for some reason I didn’t have a voucher on Sunday morning it still says my euc claim is pending what about yours did your recieve a voucher.
NY has already released their benefits. I would think that most people could see their payments by Monday! WOO HOO!
anyone in ohio get payments yet
So does anybody know about Arizona? I am also on the debit card so does that mean I should be getting my money next week?
I was told that they Iill begin on Monday
Awesome! Rent, utilities & car ins are due soon! I’ve been so anxious about this.
OMG FOR REAL!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! DID THE UNEMPLOYMENT OFFICE TELL YOU THAT?
I filed claims (online) every week, my last one was last night for w/e 7/24. This morning, it is still showing (in my account) there is still unresolved issue due to pending legislation.
I tried calling the AZ Call center but the line was busy. So, I really don’t know if or when AZ is already processing the affected UI claimants (Tier 1-4).
The AZ website www.azui.com still has this info posted:
********************
“The U.S. Congress has passed and the President has signed legislation that will extend the Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) and Extended Benefit (EB) programs. As soon as DES receives information on when the new law will be effective, we will begin working on restarting these programs. Continue to file your weekly claims.”
************************
To me this is confusing, it looks like AZ DES doesn’t know “when the new law will be effective” based on the above message. <<<>>>
I mentioned www.azui.com, it should be: https://www.azdes.gov/landing.aspx?id=4211 where it showed the posting regarding EUC/EB legislation.
Wow, I tried calling them as well one minute its busy, the next minute they are not but the phone systems hangs up on you. I was hoping that I would see my unemployment on my card by the middle of this week. I have bills that are due and my rent is due on the 1st. Man I hope I can get a straight answer soon it feels like an itch you can’t scratch and its irrating.
Its pretty sad that States like Wisconson started processing payments HOURS after Obama signed it into law and states like California and New York gave a time frame on when to expect payment (Both said starting this week), and numerous other states began payments today yet all AZ DES can figure out is that Obama signed it but they dont know anything else. Its like there are a bunch of monkeys working at DES or something!
Hoping to get RETRO this coming week!! Thank goodness for the unemployment extension bill… it’s been hectic without any form of pay!! Couldn’t believe Scott Brown voted against it… tsssss Shameless!
I am an unemployed resident of Tennessee. Tier 3 benefits ended for me second week of June 2010. Am I eligible for Tier 4 and when do residents in Tennessee get their checks?
I’m also in TN- the website is still not even updated yet as far as the legislation just passed. No info on getting emergency UI, my regular benefits are exhausted and I can’t find anything out. There was no regular certification during this lapse in time because it showed a zero balance, the guy at career services said to just wait for legislation to pass, but I can’t find out anything else. Am I going to have to apply separately for the emergency benefits? I can’t do anything online and trying to deal with the phone system will be murder. Help! I’m a single mom and already had to borrow money for rent for next month!
Just found this posted in a different area of the TN Dept. of Labor website- must have just been put up today:
http://www.tn.gov/labor-wfd/unemployment_ExtendedBenefits_July2010.html
Looks like if you had a lapse in payments then you have to wait for them to send you something in the mail- but I don’t know what in the world they would need to send (why can’t they just update the website and tell us how to get payments going again?!)
Looks like the earliest possible day we could get a payment is Aug. 6th.
I am collecting from CT and from what they said on Friday when I called it is going to be a while before we see checks. They said that they are going to be sending out letters first to eligible recipients! I mean seriously, why send a letter letting us know we are eligible? Those of us know we are eligible, just send the checks! It cant be that hard if other states are sending out payments the next day the bill was passed!
Illinois – O.K. so “back pay” may take some time… what about “current pay”, i.e. I have to certify this next week. think i will at least get paid for the past two weeks on time?
The last time, a few months ago, IL said we were ‘automatically’ reinstated and it would take 2-3 days to get payment. After 2 weeks and 4 meetings with IDES, I found out that was a lie. It’s not automatic and the local supervisor had to physically reinstate each claimant and that takes weeks, if not longer. They actually threatened me with arrest during my fourth meeting if I didn’t stop complaining. But the fact was, it took two weeks before I got the retro payment and it came one day before the next regularly scheduled payment.
Thanks Mark,
I was confused. I actually went into my local unemployment office because I haven’t received my regular payment. I certify on Mondays and normally receive my payment on my debit card on Wednesdays. I was told legislation is pending. When I went in they told me my retro pay should be on my card by next week. I still was confused because why didn’t the regular payment go through. I guess they haven’t reinstated me yet. It’s a mess but payments should be coming soon.
I’m in Texas. I’m an unemployed mid-mgmt professional – over 1.5 yrs…(bankruptcy, foreclosure, now living wiht a girlfriend) – bottom line is that I’ve been submitting my information every two weeks same as when I was recieving money. The data is in their system. And, I’ve been filling out job search logs and mailing them as they require in TX. So, I’m up to date with records. And, they should be able to “run the program” and transfer funds. It isn’t difficult. I’m in the technology industry. I don’t understand the delay at all.
I see that other states have been issuing checks….however, I was wondering about VA.
i have been checking with the vec and all they can say is they are waiting for the labor board to give them instructions ,the unemployment rate where i live in va is 12.9% i see other states are already getting theirs.i pray they hurry up,in chesterfeild va if you dont pay your car taxes they suspend your drivers license,if you dont pay your water bill they can put a lien on your property and if you dont pay your house taxes they take your house so much for living the american dream
when will iowa be sending out letters & checks?
I am just so thankful that the bill has passed and the checks are coming…..
Pa UC released my payment and I double checked on the site.. It has a payment issue date as today 7/24 and any other time I have seen this I would get my deposit the next business day… So I am hoping to get my deposit Monday at 12am or monday sometime. Does anyone know differnt??? Issue date on weekend and get deposit monday??
Is there a website out there to vote the people out that voted against the Bill?
I live in ohio, they need to do a program change before they can release the check, they told me it way take up 2 weeks, that what it took last time, they told me it might not take as long this time because they have done it before, the worker told me to keep checking the web site, to determine when the checks will be release, there is a number on there web site to call but i ca not get through.
What about Mississippi?
I spoke with a very nice lady in the Jackson Unemployment Office. She said sometime next week. She said there would be a press release, but I can’t find it anywhere.
I sure hope that the checks go out soon and that I am ON that list. My benefits were cut off in early June and things have been … well lets say tough. To say the least.. I can only hope and pray….
The best thing I can say is to call the UC office and speak to a live person and ask them to release your funds. That is what I did and the person did it over the phone. I ask if they would of done it if I did not call and she said they would of got around to it at SOME point but because I was on the phone with her she would just do it now. I would def call. I called on Friday and today on the website it has my payment release date as 7/24 so should get my deposit on Mnday…. I hope LOL I am broke… LOL Good luck everyone.. This is in Pa anyway
Does anyone know or heard when the Massachusetts unemployment retro checks will b mailed out???? I can’t seem to get an answer from anyone or unemployment, Please let me know if u know something, I;m going crazy…
By the end of this week.I talked to a agent at the office about it so hold on a little longer,i feel your pain!!!!
So what about Arizona?? It’s sounding to me like if you have called in your claims as usual through this entire time, these people are going to be priority, also direct deposit/debit card people?
I AM IN SOUTH FL. LAST CHECK WAS JUNE 6TH HAVE USED 80 WEEKS TO CURRENT. STATE LAW IS NOW 99 WEEKS. DO I HAVE TO RE APPLY? AND WHEN?
Carlos, any word on your comment? From what I read, it seems the state reps are not interested in voting on accepting the extention for Florida at this time. But I am not sure whats going on now. Its in the hands of Crist now.
Sorry, I menat to write Carl.
Any word on Florida? I continually check online and it doesn’t mention anything about Obama approving for an EUC. I am so stressed out. Anyone know?
There’s a bit of information here:
http://www.micmn.com/unemployment-extension-2010-when-are-the-checks-coming-in-part-2/2404/
Online, it states that I’ve exhausted my benefits. I keep going in and trying to see if I can claim anything but I get the same thing. I do not qualify for an Extention. What is that all about? People that I know have been collecting for 1 1/2 or more? I’ve only received it for 6 months. I’ve worked for 25 years.
If your state qualifies for the extensions you have to apply for them, they are not automatic. If you got your original 26 weeks, you now need to apply for the extension.
I don’t understand how the AZ DES office can be so ignorant, this is what their website says:
“The U.S. Congress has passed and the President has signed legislation that will extend the Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) and Extended Benefit (EB) programs. As soon as DES receives information on when the new law will be effective, we will begin working on restarting these programs. Continue to file your weekly claims.”
When the new law will be effective? Give me a break some states already have received their benefits, yet AZ is dragging their knuckles on the ground. Does n e one have n e information on when they will be getting the ball rolling?
I agree 100%.
I tried calling the AZ Call center but it was busy (as usual). Or do we need to get 3TV to let AZ DES know that they should start processing? Or if they already did, AZ DES should change the posted message to a more accurate one!
I guess me and u feel the same Steven …..I need this there going freakin repo my car and DES. Is taking there sweet ass time
I know exactly what you mean, I’ve been seeing the same thing on the des site. On top of that if I call and manage to be put on hold for a rep. I’m instantly disconnected.
I LMAO at the ” dragging their knuckles on the ground” comment! :) Its so true.
I dont get this i thought is was effective when he signed it!!! if everyone knows nore please tell me i tryed calling the call center but it hangs up on me!
“The U.S. Congress has passed and the President has signed legislation that will extend the Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) and Extended Benefit (EB) programs. As soon as DES receives information on when the new law will be effective, we will begin working on restarting these programs. Continue to file your weekly claims.”
I finally got to speak to someone and they said hopefully we will be getting something this week…….I hope so I hope tomorrow be I think that’s wish full thinking
I’ve been keeping my fingers and toes crossed, if we don’t get our money in AZ by the end of the week, my cat and I will be homeless…
When will Illinois recieve checks?
Tony I was told my retro pay will be on my card next week. However I still haven’t receive my regular payment. It was suppose to be on my card on Wednesday.
why,is unemployment saying unresolved pending, This issue has been resolved.SUMMIT I AM STARVING HERE,maybe they are like MVD nobody knows the correct position.
Is Florida included?
Someone let me know ASAP,
Broke, bills still coming in mail.
http://www.micmn.com/unemployment-extension-2010-when-are-the-checks-coming-in-part-2/2404/
I got through to someone as well in AZ. I had to try something different to get a rep. but it worked. I told him I had been filing every week as I was supposed to and he told me that I can expect the funds to be in my account on friday and that I will have “money for the weekend.” Although all my money will be going to late bills and groceries whenever I receive it.
All of my money will go to rent and bills as well, and I’m on Tier 4, so no “spending money” for me… Thank god for food stamps…
I was very thankful for food stamps as well until they kicked me off for being a student. It seems that if you go to school you are ineligible for food stamps, that is unless you have a part time job. Try to wrap that around your brain.
They tried that with me as well, they were trying to tell me that I had to work at least 80/hr a month in order to be eligible for food stamps, go back to your office and tell them that you receive unemployment, that makes you automatically eligible for nutritional assistance regardless if you go to school or not… I had to raise hell in my local office till they figured that out. Don’t let them tell you that that’s not true. If they do have them show you where it says that, they won’t be able to….
I am going to try to apply again. However, for my curiosity, where/what city did you apply in? I don’t know how smooth things go in Phoenix but Tucson is kinda crappy. Just being honest… And thet knew the whole time I was on unemployment. I’m just a “white guy” looking for a hand out in DES. I usually get treated pretty crummy, almost everywhere in tucson. If you don’t think reverse racism is alive, COME TO TUCSON!
@tuctown, did he sound sure of this that we will have our money by friday? because I spoke to someone and they are saying that they haven’t gotten the go to release the funds.
@Mercedes:
What???? “They haven’t gotten the go to release the funds.” from whom? Isn’t the bill signed by Obama NOT a “GO SIGNAL” to release the funds? It was signed last Thurs, 7/22 by the President for goodness sake!
Geez…. Is there another level of authority that AZ DES is following?
I found some news on these links for the individual states:

I COULDN’T BELIEVE THIS CRAP I NEED TO PAY MY BILL S, PAY RENT AND BUY FOOD NOWWW NOT IN FOUR WEEKS OMGGG! FEELING HOPELESS!
ARIZONA HERE WE GO WE GETTING OUR MONEY YA BABY ITS ABOUT TIME I WILL BE ABLE TO AFFORD TO PUT MU SON BACK IN SCHOOL AND THANK NEWS 15 FOR GETTING ME THIS INFO
PHOENIX — Arizona’s Department of Economic Security said its office will start sending out unemployment checks and making direct deposits Tuesday for people who had lost benefits.
Last week, President Barack Obama signed an extension of unemployment benefits for millions of long-term unemployed people.
The law restores unemployment benefits to people who have been out of work for six months or more. That ends a seven-week interruption that caused 2.5 million people to lose unemployment help, which averaged at $300 a week.
According to the Arizona Department of Economic Security, the unemployment checks will be retroactive. They will start mailing checks to people who have been missing checks the longest.
To be eligible for retroactive payments, people receiving unemployment benefits must have been making calls in every week to DES to confirm their unemployment status. If they have not been making weekly calls, they need to call and get re-established. They cannot do it online.
Those who are current with DES should receive money by Friday.
http://www.micmn.com/unemployment-extension-2010-when-are-the-checks-coming-in/2354/
Omg!!! This has made my night… Now I can sleep thank you for the information.
well i hope its the truth this time we all need this money asap
Well Tuesday morning and so far no benefits. Hopefully will see something by the end of this week. However, this is AZ so I wont hold my breath. It took 4 months and a phone call to the governors office to get the initial unemployment benefits.
Sorry to say but I will believe it when I see it.
I am so tired of getting my hopes up only to have them smashed. This entire process has been hell.
if I don’t get the money by the end of the week I will be homeless. I am sick to my stomach everyday trying to figure out how to feed my kids. I am not being dramatic this is the truth. Week after week no job news, when I do get an interview and don’t get the job, it’s like getting kicking in the nuts. I have never felt like a bigger loser in my life. I have the depressing thought that I will soon be one of the 99ers that are really S.O.L.. I hope it is true that Arizona will really get out money this week. The though of having to split up my family so we don’t have to live on the streets is killing me.
mitch i understand you 100% iam in the same boat you are in i really hope des gets on the ball and gets us our money the one thing i dont under stand is what has des been doing for so many weeks they sounld of prepaired for this knowing it was gonna pass sooner or later but they waite tell last minuet my friend lived in Indiana where he got his money today at 10am all the back pay everything but we waite and theres nonthing we can do but waite and fyi mitch call ur local church they will help u i know i did last mo now this mo i have pawned and sold everything just to fill out apps and do interviews and on top of that i we had to get a tital loan and well lets just say highway robbrie but all we can do now is hope and waite please excues my spelling i know i cant spell for nonthing lolol
Yea we are all waiting idk about your friend in Indiana but that’s where I live and our website says no ones getting anything here until Aug 3. And that’s the day to file for retro and current payments then it’s another 48 hours after that.
Does anyone know when Ohio will be releasing payments?
I called the AZ DES Call Center today, Tuesday July 27th and they state that they HOPE the money will be going out this week….they say its not for sure…..however, if you have been either CALLING or REPORTING ONLINE and have continued to file claims by either method your money will go out first….KPHO reported that you had to have CALLED in weekly that is not true….you are in the front of the line to get retroactive payments if you either CALLED in or REPORTED ONLINE….lets CROSS our fingers ;) I need the money !!!!!
So it’s tuesday….. Has anyone in AZ received their direct deposit???? I know I haven’t.
well here we are tuesday freakin morning and i called for the payment info and it still says no payment has been issued because of a unresolved issue…i knew they were jerking us! what a bunch of a-holes…do they not understand that people are waiting for this that every moment without this is torcher!!!!
TO ALL Arizonans:
I got a call from the AZ DES/ARRA Asst Dir Harrington (hopefully, I got his name correctly). He called on behalf of Mr. Young – AZ DES Dir, (to whom I sent an email/inquiry last night) this morning, sometime 8:50 am MST.
He explained to me that:
1. AZ DES got the approval from DOL(Dept of Labor) yesterday after their meeting. AZ wasn’t able to meet w/ DOL last Friday bec it was furlough day in Az DES.
2. AZ DES is using mainframe environment meaning it processes transaction by batch (end of day). And will need to test new programs, etc before it goes live. So AZ DES will start to process tonight (for affected claimants). If I remember correctly, there will be 3 batches (2-3days) to be processed. I think DES will process first the batch, i.e. people with the longest claims (who claimed weekly since June till last week).
3. In my case, since I get paid thru debit card, it will take 1-2 business days to get cleared from DES bank to my bank. So approx. I will get the money in my bank, Friday this week or Monday. It depends on how long my bank will process.
I explained to him about the message that was posted on AZ DES website. I told him the message is general and appears to have a gap. He said that was true until yesterday since they had the approval / doc from DOL.
Now, I know that the ball is rolling in AZ, I can now move on and continue my job search online. I am happy to know that AZ DES took time to call me and explain… :)
Have a great day everyone!
You are AWESOME!!! Thanks for the information.
I live in AZ. It appears that the information we are all so excited about has come from KPHO (channel 5 news). But the information doesn’t really make a whole lot of sense to me. I am very interested in where they got this information. It speaks about checks and making weekly calls. I have never called, I file my claims via the internet and have never had a check sent to me. I am pretty sure all of AZ is on the debit card system. I want to be positive, but, it doesn’t sound right to me.
If this were true, it seems that the DES website would have something other than that crap about waiting for the effective date. I just don’t understand. There are other states that have issued payments from day one of this thing being signed by Obama. Why is it taking so long for AZ when EVERYTHING for them is electronic????
The one thing that sticks out in my mind is NM. I read that their govenor had to sign an agreement with the US Department of Labor to accept these funds. If that is the case in AZ…….. Then the fact that we are left in the dark with nothing….. ALL MAKES SENSE!! There is no way our govenor will be concerned with lending support to this bill or helping anyone that’s in this situation. I am hoping this is not the case, but, I am really really starting to wonder.
OKAY!!!!!! This just posted on the DES website:
The Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) and Extended Benefit (EB) programs have been extended through November, 2010. We have begun processing back payments for claimants that continued to file weekly claims. Due to the large volume of payments to process, and barring any unforeseen circumstances, we plan to issue back payments on Wednesday (7/28/10), Thursday (7/29/10) and Friday (7/30/10). It may take an additional day or two for the deposit to your bank account or for you to receive the check by mail.
If you do not receive a payment that you believe you are entitled to or you did not continue to file your weekly claims, please contact the Call Center at: 1-602-364-2722 (Phoenix), 1-520-791-2722 (Tucson), or 1-877-600-2722 (outside of Maricopa or Pima County) to re-establish your claim.
Based on the recent Federal changes we are receiving an unusually high volume of calls to our call-centers. We appreciate your patience as we work to address all issues as quickly as possible.

This is the newest update I found today for the state of Alabama if anyone by chance is here from Alabama or just wants to know. Seems to be very good news & it makes me hopeful for my state & everyone else’s state as well. Stay strong, have hope, & God Bless…:-)

IMPORTANT NEWS ABOUT FEDERAL EXTENDED UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION
AND ALABAMA HIGH EXTENDED BENEFITS UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION (HEB)
Legislation to extend the ending date of the Emergency Unemployment Compensation program (EUC08) and the High Extended Unemployment Benefits program (HEB) was signed into law by President Obama on July 22, 2010. See the summary of the legislation below. *
Staff at the Alabama Department of Industrial Relations is working now to make the necessary changes and expects to pay these additional benefits before July 30, 2010.
If you are still unemployed, you should continue to file weekly certifications as usual. You will be notified by mail if you are entitled to additional benefits.
Please note: The new legislation did not include any additional tiers of benefits for EUC or any extra weeks for HEB. Claimants who have already received all EUC and HEB benefits will have no other benefits available.
* Extension of Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) program:
Extends the EUC program through November 30, 2010 with a phase-out lasting through April 30, 2011 and is retroactive back to June 2nd.
* Extension of Extended Benefits (EB) program:
Extends 100 percent of Federal funding for the Extended Benefits (EB) program to December 1, 2010 with a phase-out to May 1, 2011.
* Federal Additional Compensation: (the extra $25)
It does NOT extend the FAC program. The program ended on June 2, 2010 with a phase-out period for current FAC recipients ending on December 7, 2010.
I had a voicemail on my phone today from the Massachusetts DUA. They said that I might be eligible for additional benefits and to call back. I have called all day and cannot get through other than to get a message saying call back Thursday. I spoke with a rep late last week and he said to keep checking the website (which says noting useful, by the way). He had no idea when payments would be made or would resume. I have continued to certify online weekly as instructed and hope those are the payments others have stated they were told are going out this week.
Hey Kat,
I am from Massachusetts and when I called last Friday, the rep said he had no idea when anything was going to happen. He said to check the website for updates which is, like you said, useless. Anyway, I have been certifying weekly like I was told to do and I have not received any payment, letter or phone call. I tried calling but could not get through and was also told to try on Thursday. If you get through and find something out, can you please post here?? We would really appreciate it. If I find anything out, I will do the same.
Hey Kat and anyone else from Massachusetts. I just checked the website and it has been updated. This is what it says:
On July 22, 2010, President Obama signed legislation making Emergency Unemployment Compensation and Extended Benefits available through December 1, 2010 with applicable phase-out periods. Claimants who have not exhausted the maximum extension benefits will receive a letter with instructions on how to apply and claim these benefits. Retroactive extension payments will begin to be issued starting this Saturday July 31, 2010. Details are provided via above link.
I just read this (Chatanooga Times Free Press) for all residents of Tennessee and Georgia who are looking for their checks, I hope they send them out soon!! Has anyone else from Tennessee heard anything else? I exausted Tier 2 on July 3, 2010 and really need some money! I dont see how they can hold up payments much past the first few weeks of August.
Retroactive payments could go out as early as next week in some states, although Tennessee and Georgia officials said it will likely be early August before eligible recipients are identified, notified and mailed their back checks.
Why is some states are getting their payments out already and we have to wait in TN? I have 3 kids to feed, have applied for every job under the sun and nothing!! I hate feeling desperate, and i thought some relief would come in a hurry after the president signed. I guess there is no hurry for the people to get these checks issued, they get a weekly paycheck huh. Sorry to sound snippy and shallow but dang!!!
Hey i live in Tennessee too and i was just wondering if anybody has heard anything lately about when we will start getting our checks. Also when i call in it says my benefits has been exhausted does anybody elses?
Just wanted to let everyone know that i sent an email to Tennessee Unemployment at UIClaimsinfo@TN.gov and she replied and said that My back pay would be mailed out tomorrow and that I could start certifying tomorrow because wednesdays would be my new certifying day. Told my sister the same thing. Just thought i would let all the Tennessee folks out there know.
I wrote an e mail to the AZ DES office today and this is what I received back
Mr. Neal Young asked me to respond to your email on his behalf.
We are very sympathetic to the situation of our unemployed Arizona citizens whose federal benefits have been held up while waiting for Congressional decision. While we are reacting as quickly as possible to the passing of the extension of time for federal benefits there are many things that need to be done before we can start issuing benefits.
Testing is almost complete and we should be able to start processing the emergency unemployment benefits to the bank very soon, hopefully as soon as tonight. Claimants may start seeing funds on their Unemployment debit cards as early as Thursday. It will take us several days to complete the processing and we will pay those claimants that have been waiting the longest first. While the law “comes into effect” as soon as President Obama signed it, all states have to wait for direction from the Department of Labor on how the law is to be administered. The good news is that based on the language of the law, we thought the $25 FAC payment would not be part of the extension but the instructions from the Department of Labor stated that if claimants received the $25 on their original state claim they were eligible to also receive it on their extensions.
I am not aware of any states that have issued any benefits for their clients and if you are aware of any, I would appreciate it if you would let me know. I had heard rumors that New York State was already paying their claimants but they are on the same schedule as we are. I honestly believe we are moving as fast as any other state.
The new message that has been posted to the website is below.

Thank you Steven for sharing your email with us….I had no idea I would get the $ 25….that’s an extra $ 200 which for an unemployed single mom with no child support is amazing…again THANK YOU….this site is amazing and has provided me with much needed information today. It’s amazing what a great organizing tool the INTERNET can be…….let’s home all goes well and we get our money.
Again thank you to Steven, Maria and everyone else that emailed and called ….it helped us all ;)
I have a friend in CA, she received her payment (check) yesterday which included the $ 20(FAC). So this is confirmed. The thing is, in CA, they don’t file weekly but bi-weekly. They don’t do it online and it isn’t direct deposit. Yet, people are already receiving the payments.
But in AZ, we will have to wait it out… :) Well, I guess, that’s better than nothing at all.
Sorry, typo error, it should be $ 25 not $20 (FAC).
I live in SAn Diego CA. Do you know if your friend ever checked status of her payment she recieved through the automated voice system. I am curious if they are updating the mailing of the checks on that system or if due to the mass amount of checks being sent out that they are not yet reflecting that information.
My husband is under the FED ED and we mailed our paperwork back in June. So according to the EDD website we should have received something no later than today. I called the system and it still is not reflecting any payments.
Any information on CA checks and precess will be great.
Thanks,
Lisa
Good News, I located a person in CA that was having the same issues with obtaining their extension check for the FED ED extension. If you call 1-408-436-5603, they will process your claim form (if you sent on in already back in June) and will send you out all of your missing weeks claim forms. We called yesterday and our check is in the mail today with all of the missing weeks claim forms so we will be back paid in full by next week and the first check will be here by Friday. :)
Anyone in CA still waiting for their extension FED ED checks call this number. :)
has anyone in AZ gotten money today? I did not and I am one of the people that have been out the longest and continued to file claims ?
no one will get money today des says its gonna sart the process today so some will see tonight outhers buy thrusday night woohoo
correct no money is in anyone’s account but I talked to a rep that said they have released some and more tonight and more tomorrow….I was just HOPING that since I am one of the longest ones without money (8 weeks) that I might be in the first batch but apparently there is no way to know who gets released when :) wait wait wait….don’t we just love Arizona :)
This is B.S. You’ll have it today and if not wait another day, WHOOPS wait another day and another day. I can’t do this anymore!!! I’m hungry, I need to do laundry, TEP is gonna shut the power off!! What do they mean a couple days in your bank account?? I still just use the chase card they gave me. Put some F*****G money on it PLEASE!
I am truly amazed in a age of instant technology that it will take three days to get processed….don’t they just press a button ? It’s amazing to me how FAST money comes out of your account but HOW LONG it takes to put money in !!!
Illinois payments will begin on Friday, 7/30/2010. I spoke with a representative from IDES this morning. A portion of the money has already been added to my IDES account balance. The rest if it will be added overnight. That will trigger payments to be sent out via direct deposit or IDES debit card by Friday morning. This only applies to those who have been regularly certifying. They will be an additional delay if you have not continued to certify while waiting for the legislation to pass.
what the hell is va talking about 6 weeks wtf
I live in Pa and got my Deposit yesterday. Call on friday and they released my funds over the phone and said I would get a deposit Monday or Tuesday. Thank God I has hurting so bad and now it feels great to have money in the bank. I hope all of you get your deposits soon. Call your UC office because if I did not I do not think I would of gotten my deposit so soon and the woman on the phone also said they would of gotten to it at some point but because I was on phone with her she would just release them now. It was nice because I kept filing since June 2nd and they gave me a lump sum (couple thousand) Got new tires bought kids missed B-day presents. Funny they say money cant buy happinest well you are not going to be too happy when the lights are turned off. God Bless and like I said I hope your deposits are soon also.
do somebody know about michigan?
Omar, I have checked several websites and they say that Michigan should be receiving their benefits this week and next. I don’t know how true it is.
does any one know when AZ DES will deposit the first batch of checks and will they update the phone system to say pymt was deposited?
I was just thinking the same thing. I haven’t received anything for 8 weeks so I was told that I would be seeing payment soon, but nothing yet.

well my neighbor who has been without his money for 3 weeks now received his money tonight. I get to sit and wait for my 7 weeks pay to deposit. What happened to “we will pay those claimants that have been waiting the longest first.” To think, I actually believed that lie. for shame
Well thats some bs. I was told that they would give priority to those who been waiting the longest and they give him his money first and he only been waiting 3 weeks? i been waiting 8 weeks.
I saw some posts on another site with people that were waiting 4,5 and 6 weeks getting their money too! All less than me and obviously less than your 8. I know we all need it, but the lie that we would have priority makes me furious.
Yea that is true. I just hate that lying part they need to get it together.
Still waiting in AZ.
here we are Wed. night and still no money from AZ DES.
I think they enjoying getting peoples hopes up, and them making them wait day after day.
To bad APS doesn’t accept excuses then it comes to me paying the bill. Since they didn’t have the money they will be shutting off my electric soon.
DES needs to hire some people that speak English and have more than a 7th grade education.

I have been without any money for over six weeks. I am on the verge of having the bank take my car and I only have 3 payments left before it is paid for. I am behind by two. They are expecting payment by Monday the 2nd. There is still no sign of my account being updated on Michigan’s UIB website. I need money!!! My mortgage will be over a month late on Aug. 1st. Seriously, why are so many other states getting these benefits out but Michigan has yet to do a thing. I continued to certify, it seems all they would need to do is process the payment!!! Please Michigan and God……please send me the money so I can pay my bills and buy food!!! PLEASE!!!
Read on this website, that one person from Michigan got their payment today:
unemployed-friends.forumotion.com
New reply….just came into my email box from Michigan UI:
Date Responded: 7/29/2010
Detail: Your Emergency Unemployment Compensation Tier 3 claim has been processed. Your payment was released on 7-29-10. Please allow 2 to 3 business days to receive your payment, and continue to report to MARVIN on your scheduled day and time. UIA Virtual Problem Resolution, (ViPR), Team V0038
Good News!!!! Payments on it’s way!!! Thank the Lord!!!
I bet if they were distributing money to some failing banks or insurance companies they would be working overtime to get the money out.
Has anyone gotten anything? Yet?
nothing yet
damn well here it is now Thursday i have no money yet do you has anyone in Arizona gotten anything yet
yes there is a website called unemployed friends…….there are ongoing posts from people and lots of them have been paid…. i am on hold right now because I have not been paid and I have been out for 8 weeks and continued to file online in a timely manner each week…..I thought I was supposed to be one of the ones to be paid first !!! sooooo frustrating
any luck with calling? I’m on hold now
Please let us know what you find out
I had no luck when I talked to a rep ….SAD THING they KNOW LESS than we do :) geesshhh
I asked why people that have only been without payments for three weeks are already paid and those of us that have been out for 8 aren’t….I have filed timely claims everyweeks and Monday will be the 8th week without payment. She had no answer and when I asked if someone, a supervisor, someone….could please take the hold off my account she said that they can’t make special treatment for one person…..I’m not asking for special treatment just wondering why those of us that are out the longest can’t get paid….? VERY frustrating!
I haven’t received anything yet? Every time I call it disconnects on me when I’m placed on hold for a rep-The phone system needs to be updated. It still tells me “you were not issued a pymt due to an unresolved issue”. Online it says ” pymt held pending legislation”. Obama signed last week and became law the moment he signed the last “A” in Obama. What is the hold up! I have Bills, Bills, and more Bills, that can’t wait while they play this game.
MASSACHUSETTS: My husband called the dept. of unemployment yesterday..July 29th to see what was going on with the checks. She told him checks are most likely going to go out by the end of this week. But she told him she wasn’t sure who would get theirs first. Probably the people who were cut off first. I guess that would only be fair. And also…I think this just applies if you were still calling in your unemployment every week over the telephone. My husband was told a long time ago to keep calling in every week no matter what happens. I guess some people probably stopped calling when they were told their benefits stopped. I think these people will have to get in touch with their local unemployment office. So…checks are coming starting the end of this week. I hope I helped some of you people out there in Massachusetts. They haven’t done a good job letting people know what was going on. Good luck everyone!!
I just got off the phone with the Mass DUA and they told me that the extension has not been programmed yet in their system and checks probably wouldn’t start going out until Saturday August 7th and he wasn’t even sure that they would go out then. This totally contradicts what the website says. I don’t know what to believe now. I am going to try and call back later and get someone else to see what they say.
Okay, just checked the Mass DUA website again and this is what it says now:
All claimants whose weekly claims certifications are up-to-date will be issued retroactive U.I. Extension Benefits payments beginning this Saturday, July 31st. By Wednesday, August 4th, 50,000 payments will have been issued. For the remaining claimants, we will continue our outreach by telephone and mailings to assist them in updating their claims and getting their payments processed. Claimants should be aware that it may take several days for paper checks to be received or financial institutions to process direct deposits.
Apparently the rep I spoke to had no idea what he was talking about.
Update for AZ: Just got our funds in our account last night 7/28. I called to see if the funds were in the account and they were. I called around 10:30pm. I had called earlier in the day around 3pm and it was not in there yet. We got the retroactive. The entire amount that was owed to us, hopefully this helps with everyone else and their status.
OK EVERYONE I GOT SOMEWHERE….I emailed Kber@azdes.gov. Guess what she had one of her people CALL ME…yes personally call me…I am still in shock. She was the nicest women. She said that I am in the last batch going through tonite:) Apparently they paid out according to who was on unemployment the longest. Ive only been on 7 mos so that is why I was last.
not true I have been receiving UI benefits for 11 months n the DES site still tells me “Payment held pending legislation”…
I just checked my claim info on the website. All 7 weeks have been paid as of today. This includes the $25. The funds won’t be available to me until tomorrow, but the payments have been issued.
Kendra,
Had you checked the online system multiple times today or was that your first check? The reason I ask is I have checked the online system today and no pay. I wonder if it could update today or if there will be no further updates until tomorrow.
I have been wondering the same question for a while and browsing other blogs for answers…. According to the AZ DES office that I called….. They don’t know.. When I spoke with a supervisor however, she told me that my payment wouldn’t issue until tomorrow. She left me with the destinct impression that the system only updates every morning and only the payments showing they’ve been issued that morning will be paid that night. I was so convinced/depressed by that news that I have stopped checking my claim.
I have also heard that they are paying people first that have been on unemployment benefits the longest. Not how long it has been since you last received a payment. Not sure I believe that either. Initial claim in 01/09.
Hey, Sorry it took so long for me to respond. On Thursday when I woke up I checked and it showed the payments were issued on Thursday. Friday morning the funds were avail. I hope this helps you.
I checked mine and it is showing in AZ DES website that it already processed payments from 6/12 to 7/24. So it will take 1-2 days to transfer from DES bank to my bank.
It really depends on how long bank clears/transfer money to another. Banks are not made equal. So, at this point, I will wait… :)
Update: My UI benefit got posted tonight in my bank. I’ll be able to pay rent on time! Basically, it took 3 days of processing from AZ DES to my bank.
Hopefully you all will receive your payment pretty soon!!
I emailed Kber@azdes.gov and I got a personal call back. The only pay out ONCE a day so checking several times is a waste of our time. They are paying the people that have been on unemployment the longest first. I filed in 12/09 and I am in tonites batch. If you have filed continuously then you should be in one of three batches this week. The woman was calling from the Main DES office with the higher up and for once had legitmate and correct information. There are 55000 receiving retroactive payments and its takes 3.5 for each daily batch to run so thats why they only do it once a day. This is for AZ
so you are getting yours tonite and you filed in 12/09 did she say if you would be paided right away??
She said I was for sure in the batch to be paid tonite…which means it should show in my status on the AZUI website tomorrow morning and in my bank account….maybe Sat….probably Monday.
do you have regular bank acct or the debit card ??
I have a regular checking account with Chase bank…The Debit Card has the Chase logo but is not part of the bank….however, people with the card seem to see the money a little earlier.
thx allison
only by about 2 hrs….
Yeah you will get it Monady or Tuesday… I am sorry to say it is going to be Tuesday :( I did the same thing, got my payment released on Sat so I was like cool I will get my deposit on Monady… 1 business day right??? Wrong they deposited on my card on Tuesday… So I felt your pain waiting and waiting and trust me one extra day seems like a lifetime :( But when you get that deposit it feels like the weight of the whole world just came off your shoulders. Well good luck man. Just remember come November though…. All the PAIN all the STRESS… Who did this?????? Republicans…. And I have been a life long Republican also… Not this time!!!! Cant believe they did what they did.. Not only rejecting it but after the Democrates got enough votes to beat the fillabuster they Republicans used that 30 hour rule to make us suffer even longer… WTF… Ok once again Good luck man!!!
I’m on unemployment in CA and I havent recieved anything as of today. I can’t belive how far behind ca is in the ways of technology. Why doesnt ca have direct deposit and stuff? It’s almost impossible to get through to someone on the phone. I know they are working fast, but man my funds cant come soon enough. The edd website said that thoes who continued to send in their claim forms would be among the first to get paid.
Ive been unemployed since 07/09 and I havent received anything yet. Does any one know if I would be in that batch for friday? Website still showing not paid
my claim is from 7/09 also and I was told I will be paid tomorrow. we’ll see……
has any one in ga got theirs today as of pm nothing yet.
Well its Thursday nite and I last called my AZui debit card @ 11pm hoping 2 have something on it but it was all wishful thinking.it’s been 7 weeks th@ I haven’t had $, called the call center but the help was useless! Even sent a email to a supervisor but no response as of yet! Really hurtin here can’t sleep cuz got 2 many worries on the brain, hopefully it will be there in the morning but probably not f*****g AZ!
Ok, AZ TIPS line (alwasy updated faster than online system) is saying that payment was made on 07/30 so payment should be on debit card tonight or first thing monday.
same with me. The site doesn’t show it yet but the tips line says I was paid.
Same here with me. No update online, but TIPS has it being released today. I use the unemployment debit card, so keeping my fingers crossed that it will be in there tonight! It’s about freaking time! Now I can relax my mind a little and get my bills paid! No eviction for me!
Anything yet? Paid on 07/30 but no money on card yet. Geez I hope it will be before monday.
You will get your deposit on Tuesday. Same thing happened to me, got payment release date on the weekend and ogt deposit Tuesady. But hey man only a couple more days :)
Anyone getting payments in CA?
I’m awaiting payment in CA….I still sent in my claim forms when they told me to and supposedly those who did will be among the first to be paid.
FYI that’s what AZ told us too. It seems as though they were paying people who have the longest claims. That is if they started unemployment before you even though you have been without money longer you still will not be the first to be paid, they would. That’s what happened to me in AZ anyway.
Anyone know any info on Wyoming?
The AZ tips line told me that my payment was issued today which means hopefully I will have $$ in my account by midnight tonight (if fate is on my side)…
you guys in AZ are lucky to have so many resources to find out check info. The CA EDD has a pathetic automated phone line that is always one day behind. We dont have direct deposit or the ability to load a debit card up or anything. I am impressed however at the speed they are going to get the retro active payments to everyone.
i live in michigan.i have not read of 1 person paid yet.they released a statement saying they would have it ready but they dont.i watched a friend certify on line an hour ago and she did not get paid.your in for a long wait.i called them and they have no idea when the money will be ready.and we paid for a up to date system with our taxes.gotta love granholm…..
To: Michigan
I haven’t gotten my payment yet but I got this message yesterday in response to an email I sent the UIA in Michigan on the 27th:
Date Responded: 7/29/2010
Detail: Your Emergency Unemployment Compensation Tier 3 claim has been processed. Your payment was released on 7-29-10. Please allow 2 to 3 business days to receive your payment, and continue to report to MARVIN on your scheduled day and time. UIA Virtual Problem Resolution, (ViPR), Team V0038
Problem is today I checked my account and it says no payments have been made, it has not been updated since 7/24/10 and it says I still have 0 weeks left. I am due for tier 3 & 4 still. I just hope it is some sort of processing error and somehow the system wasn’t update but I hope I am still going to receive my payment as they said. My nerves are shot!!!
Just got a call back from a supervisor, she informed me th@ there was a issue on my payment th@ just got resolved and th@ I was going to get my back pay but it was going 2 be a PAPER check,so when I call in next week 4 my check in I will get my regular payment be4 I get my back payments! So I guess now I can stop stressing bout my payment because I can’t rush the mail, just got 2 sit and play the waiting game.
If anyone is still waiting in Massachusetts……I received a call from unemployment this morning. It was an automated voice message stating that I might be eligible for an extension and to please call them back. After trying to get through for two hours, I finally got a live person and she didn’t understand why they had called me because my money was already released and it would be in my direct deposit account on Tuesday. If anyone gets a message from them to call, I would still call to be on the safe side but I just wanted to let you guys know that the money is being released.
anyone in indiana get paid yet?
AM I STILL THE ONLY ONE WAITING IN ILLINOIS?JUST CERTIFIED WED. AND JUST RECIEVED CERT. IN MAIL SAYING IF PENDING LITIGATION IN WASHINGTON IS APPROVED MY CLAIM WILL BE REEVALUATED.I’M NOT A 99ER I’VE ONLY RECIEVED 26 WEEKS.
I just called the CA EDD today and it finally said my checks had been paid as of today….now all I have to do it wait for the mail. Man what a relief. I hope all of you get your checks soon and hang in there. -Matt in CA
does anyone know if we get are money during the weekend in arizona? cuz mine was issued on the 30th…i hope so!!
Don’t worry Vanessa we will get our money Monday or Tuesday. I have called and they told me everything. Arizona is pretty straight up. Your money will go into the account onnthe weekday because I guess no one works on weekends so just sit tight and keep doing your claim because if u don’t get your big payment right away, u will still get the claim u do today I hope I’ve helped
You will NOT get your money over the weekend. You WILL get your deposit on Tuesday because Monday is not considered really a business day, it happened to me got release date on Friday or Saturday then deposit on Tuesday. Trust me I know how even a extra day seems like forever. Almost there just hang in there because when you do get that deposit it seems like the weight of the world is lifted. :)
AZ look for your money to be deposited Monday night after 8PM.
i have my money in my debit card
I live in Tennessee and was wondering when we will start receiving our unemployment again now that the extension is passed! Also when i call in it says benefits exhausted when will i actully be able to certify for benefits again? And does this mean this i won’t get paid backpay for the weeks that i have been waiting? If you have any answers please let me know.
Texans – FYI as of 08/03/2010 8:33 am finally got a live body to talk to! There is a step that must be taken by those who have never entered into any of the tiers! Please call in and be prepared to keep calling and stay on hold – chose the option “5″ to ask questions and wait through muzak, etc. When Rep comes on line request to apply for the extension. Retroactive payments will be made if you continued to request payments after the initial claim was exhausted to you by the method you were receiving payment before.
Those who had already began a Tier and were cut off will not need to do anything it will be automatically done for you according to the REP.
I never received the letter that many of you mention and she asked me about it and I said I had not, the two questions asked were as you guys have noted above. She later said a letter will be mailed out which is just a formality stating amount of claim benefit. She also states that August 4th is the date they were given for payments to begin distribution. Hope this helps, but above all else – this is a temporary hardship and your loved ones want you around for the good times, because they do come back again! Be strong and courageous, and don’t give up now! God has not forgotten about you! He cares!!!
Illinois here: Just got my money this morning.I never went to office or anything I just kept certifying when I was supposed to.It’s coming.
It’s Wednesday night Aug. 4. Anyone in Michigan get unemployment money on debit card paid yet? thanx
Matt here in CA….just got two checks of back pay in the mail on 8-2-10. The checks were paid on 7-31. Im surprised they came so fast. I guess that means that the EDD is working overtime on the weekends to get these checks out asap. I hope other people in CA and other states don’t have to wait much longer for this much needed relief.
I live in PA but worked in NJ. I ws told over a month ago that my claim was being emailed to the adjustment office and I’ll just have to wait. Has anyone else been told this and if so have you received any checks yet? It’s not easy to wait not having received a check in almost three months!!!
