Unemployment Extension Benefits HR 4213: Updated Payment Schedule Each State

Update 28th July:

The Massachusetts Division of Unemployment Assistance (DUA) advise on their website www.mass.gov/dua that “claimants who have not exhausted the maximum extension benefits will receive a letter with instructions on how to apply and claim these benefits. Retroactive extension payments will begin to be issued starting this Saturday July 31, 2010.”

Original Post
Over the last 3 days we’ve covered the unemployment extension benefits payment schedule for 18 states. We’ll publish the payment schedule of other states as they become known. If you have any information relating to payment schedules, please use our Comments board or Contact form to inform your fellow Americans.

Where are our checks? Part 1

Where are our checks? Part 2

Where are our checks? Part 3

Where are our checks? Part 4

Of course none of this helps the long term unemployed or 99’ers as they’re known. MICMN will continue to advertise their plight known in the hope that the mainstream news outlets will finally turn their focus onto these “forgotten” long term unemployed.

Another issue at hand is the fact that the CORBRA subsidy for anyone laid off after May 30th has been excluded from this latest unemployment extension bill. Medicaid provided by the individual states will also be hit. See our current article on this matter. A second will be published tomorrow.

Linda from Deer Park, New York wrote: “Times change. What was appropriate for past unemployment is not good for today’s situations. The old ways of granting extensions and tiers are outdated and need to be altered for present conditions.

Why can’t congress see that many are really hurting …. People are not hiring out there and we can’t find jobs. What are we suppose to do?

What does one do if they do not qualify for any welfare or food stamps. We can’t get loans or any help from anyone. We have no money, no savings and no 401k’s and nobody is calling us back for interviews for any kind of job.

….How sad our country and moral has become. Until the media keeps talking about this we will all just be forgotten about.

The full fallout from the passage of the greatly pared down unemployment extension bill HR4213 is still to be felt by middle and lower class America.

    Washington State:

    Update about Emergency Unemployment Compensation
    July 23, 2010

On July 22, Congress passed and President Obama signed legislation continuing Emergency Employment Compensation through the end of November 2010.
They also made the program retroactive to early June, when the program had previously expired.
However, the legislation does not increase the total weeks of benefits that are available. So, if you have already used up all of your eligible unemployment benefits, this EUC extension will not provide you additional benefits.
Employment Security is currently reprogramming our computers to reflect the changes and to update each claimant’s claims status.
Please do not call the unemployment telecenter at this time. If you are potentially eligible for EUC benefits under the new extension, we will send you a notice in about one to two weeks

Thank you for the info Richard. I find it hard to believe. They told me the money was released Monday night and would be in our banks by Wednesday morning. Let’s assume that since IL is the most corrupt state in the country and since our last Governor is set to be sentenced today, they feel no sense of urgency. But, thank you anyway. I have no faith in IDES or the State of Illinois whatsoever.

I went to the bank this morning expecting to see my unemployment check had been deposited… only to find out from the teller (whose husband is also unemployed) that we’d get our benefits “eventually.” July 30th doesn’t sound so bad, as long as IDES sticks with that. My bill collectors don’t like to be told they’ll get their payments “eventually….” :o/

        Thanks for the info, Richard.

I hope that you have re-opened your claim, this was to be done on Tuesday. After re-opening your claim, you could either (a) call the phone system once a day for 3 straight days to get your benefits caught up, or (b) went to the unemployment office and they would manually put in all the weeks for back-pay. Checks would then be mailed out on a normal schedule.
